ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Recruiting and rankings are always hot topics among fans. Fans often take star ratings as an end-all, be-all of how the future players will pan out at the next level. If their team offers a three- or two-star prospect then there must be something wrong.
It turns out that those rankings can often be wrong, and recruits are able to play above their star ranking at the next level. Overachievers are a big part of the game, and Michigan has had its fair share of players who contributed more than anticipated.
