ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- It wasn't always pretty, but Michigan will enter the Big Ten schedule undefeated and in the AP Top 25 after a 28-7 win over San Diego State on Saturday.

A second look at the game tape Sunday showed that Michigan actually looked a lot better than previously thought. Yes, it was still a sloppy game -- especially by Michigan's offense -- but the defense showed potential in all three units.
