Bowman, Breslin next in juco line

LOS ANGELES -- With the recent signings of Diablo Valley (Calif.) College defensive end Morgan Breslin and Pierce (Calif.) College safety Gerald Bowman, Trojans fans are reminded once again that while most of the attention of Cardinal and Gold recruiting is spotlighted at the high school level, the junior college transfer still remains a viable recruiting option.

The latest installment of the Rose Bowl Game recalls that many former transfers have been instrumental in leading the Trojans to Pasadena on New Year's Day, and in some cases, national championships.

The Trojans have a long history of tapping into the juco ranks and developing transfer talent into All-Americans. The first real transfer splash was quarterback Greenville "Grenny" Lansdell from Pasadena City (Calif.) College. Lansdell went on to have a brilliant three-year career with the Cardinal and Gold, playing in two Rose Bowls and becoming an All-American in 1939.
