The loss to Stanford arrived with a resounding thud and delivered a tough blow to the Trojans' 2012 season. But it's a season that's just getting started, and another game awaits on Saturday, so the Trojans will need to regroup and focus on moving ahead in the following areas:
Address the issues: The Stanford game exposed weaknesses along the USC offensive line, and head coach Lane Kiffin has already announced that the left tackle spot will be open for competition this week between Aundrey Walker and Max Tuerk. Kiffin made it clear that Walker's effort was a prime reason for the starting spot being up for grabs.
There were obvious issues at the center spot too, but that situation is different as the long-term solution is more about waiting for Khaled Holmes to get healthy than anything else. In the meantime, the coaches will have multiple options to consider. Cyrus Hobbi was faced with a rough situation in his first start and there is the thought that he will get better with increased game time. John Martinez has seen practice time at center and would offer a veteran presence. If Abe Markowitz is healthy, he could be a possibility as well.
