LOS ANGELES -- The USC offensive line had some big holes to fill coming into the season after losing right tackle Tyron Smith, center Kris O'Dowd and guard/tackle Butch Lewis to the NFL. However, with the guidance from coaches, the leadership of an All-American and the camaraderie of the whole line, the Trojans offensive line started out as a question but finished the season as a nicely-worded answer.
When Lane Kiffin took the job at USC two years ago, he brought offensive line coach James Cregg with him. Cregg, a native of Norco, has been coaching for 14 seasons. Before his short time at Tennessee, he had coached at Idaho, Colgate, Colorado State, and the Oakland Raiders. For most of his coaching carrier, Cregg had coached the defensive line.
