Trojans earn high marks in big win

EUGENE, Ore. --- Although I haven't gotten a chance to watch the film and analyze, here are my grades from USC's 38-35 victory over No. 4 Oregon on Saturday at Autzen Stadium.

Quarterback: 95 percent (A)
With the end of the season a week away and the deadline to declare for the NFL draft soon to follow, Matt Barkley was still looking for that big-time game that defined his carrier as a USC quarterback. He found it. Barkley's four touchdown passes could only be described as "clutch".

His touchdown to tight end Randall Telfer in the third quarter is what stood out to me. On a similar play in the second quarter, Barkley rolled and threw the ball to Robert Woods, who was his first read. On the third-quarter play, Barkley was looking for Woods again, only to find him covered. Without hesitating, Barkley threw a bullet to Telfer, trusting his tight end was going to be there, which he was. However, Barkley did have an interception and some miscommunication with Marc Tyler on the handoff that caused his fourth-quarter fumble.
