Draft Watch: Young, Smith, Brown

May, 14, 2007
RESEDA, Calif. -- Every year, dozens of prospective NBA players spend the month of May getting intense training in preparation for a series of private workouts they'll go through with NBA teams as part of the draft process.

From Los Angeles to Chicago to New York and Florida, many of the top prospects try to get an edge by hitting the weight room, hiring personal chefs, working with personal shooting coaches and even memorizing individual workouts teams have used in the past.

For some teams, workouts are just one of many factors that they take into account in deciding whom to draft. For others, workouts are more critical -- some teams refuse to draft players who haven't worked out well for them.
