A daily glance inside the numbers from the world of sports:
• The Celtics (99-98 over Memphis) and Bulls (85-84 over Golden State) each had a one-point win Wednesday night, becoming the first teams in NBA history to begin a season with four straight games decided by either one point or in overtime. Before Wednesday's victories, both Boston and Chicago had a played pair of overtime games and lost another game by a one-point margin. Prior to this season, only teams to start a season with three such games were the Trail Blazers in 1990 and the Lakers in 1991.
• Lawrence Roberts was 4-for-4 from the floor but 0-for-7 from the line for the Grizzlies in their loss in Boston. Roberts became the first player in NBA history to go 0-for-7 (or worse) from the free-throw line in a one-point loss.
