Elias Says ...

A daily glance inside the numbers from the world of sports:

Vince Carter scored 45 points and Jason Kidd had a triple-double in the Nets' 89-85 win at Milwaukee. It had been more than five years since one NBA player scored 45-plus points and a teammate recorded a triple-double. It last happened on Dec. 30, 2000, when Philadelphia's Allen Iverson (46 points) and Aaron McKie (19 points, 14 assists and 10 rebounds) did it in an overtime victory at Sacramento.

Prior to Tuesday night, the last teammates to turn that trick in a non-OT game were Washington's Tracy Murray (50 points) and Rod Strickland (triple-double) on Feb. 10, 1998, against the Warriors.
