A daily glance inside the numbers from the world of sports:
• For the first time in 27 years, Kentucky, North Carolina, and Kansas will all be missing from the NCAA's Sweet 16. There have been 56 tournaments in which at least 16 teams participated. The only others in which none of those schools was among the final 16 teams were played in 1979, 1976, 1965, 1963 and 1954.
• With the absence of three of the tournament's most successful teams, Duke will tie UNC for the most Sweet 16 appearances since the tournament expanded to 48 teams in 1980. The leaders during that time: Duke and North Carolina, 18; Kentucky, 17; Kansas, 14.
