• The Yankees defeated the Red Sox 1-0 on Sunday on a first-inning home run by Jason Giambi. Yankee Stadium fans might think they've seen it all, but unless some of the 55,123 there were also in attendance on April 5, 2001 (against the Royals) or Sept. 26, 1941 (against the Senators), they never saw a game at the House That Ruth Built in which a first-inning solo home run provided the only scoring.
