A daily glance inside the numbers from the world of sports:

Major League Baseball

Bartolo Colon's record dropped to 20-8 in the Angels' 8-4 loss to Tampa Bay. Colon entered the game with an 8-0 career record against the Devil Rays, but he allowed six runs (all earned) in five innings after not allowing more than three earned runs in any of his 12 previous starts against Tampa Bay.

• Sunday's game was the fourth in Devil Rays history in which they faced a starting pitcher who had already won 20 games that season. Believe it or not, Tampa Bay won all four of those games, tagging the 20-game winner with the loss each time (Roger Clemens twice in 2001, Roy Halladay in 2003, and Colon on Sunday).
