A daily glance inside the numbers from the world of sports:

World Series: Game 2

Scott Podsednik was the first player to hit a postseason walkoff home run following a season in which he didn't hit any homers. Podsednik was 0-for-507 at-bats during the 2005 season, although he homered in Game 1 of the White Sox's Division Series win over the Red Sox.

For the curious, George Vukovich hit a walkoff home run in Game 4 of the Phillies' loss to the Expos in the first round of the 1981 playoffs. He hit only one during the regular season, which had been the lowest total pre-Podsednik.
