Jason Bartlett knows consistency

The word "consistency" has become a cliché of sorts in baseball. Players improving their numbers will often say it's the result of being more consistent. Minor leaguers have it drilled into their heads that the main difference between them and major league players are that the major leaguers are just more consistent day-to-day.

Yet that's exactly what Jason Bartlett thinks is the key for the surge in his numbers this season that has him ranked third among shortstops in our Player Rater.

"I'm just being more consistent at everything," Bartlett said. "Offense, defense, stealing bags. It's always kind of been there, but being more consistent day-in and day-out has allowed my numbers to improve."
