The evolution of Mookie Betts has been a fascinating one. He's gone from the "toolsy" but unpolished prospect out of the draft in 2011 to sleeper prospect in 2012 to top 100 prospect after his outstanding showing in 2013 over the season and in the Arizona Fall League to one of the top 25 prospects in baseball after dominating both Double-A and Triple-A pitching this spring.

The next evolution has come for Betts, as he's been called up by the Boston Red Sox to try to help their hitting woes and salvage what has been a borderline disastrous season for the defending world champions.

Here's a look at why Betts is not only a must-own in keeper leagues but also a player who can help you in virtually every fantasy category this season.

What he can do: Betts has outstanding hand-eye coordination, and his short, direct swing allows him to control the zone as well as any prospect in baseball.
