Steve Nash owners are pining for the two-time MVP's return. And they aren't alone.
Pretty much anyone with a Phoenix player has been feeling a sense of loss during the 33-year-old's four-plus game absence due to right shoulder inflammation. Sure, Leandro Barbosa owners are enjoying the temporary spark of offense (21.5 points and three three-pointers a game since Nash went down), but Raja Bell is off the mark, and Shawn Marion is just off. And even though Amare Stoudemire is getting more points, he's doing it by taking a lot more shots.
Marion's with-and-without-Nash splits are the starkest. In the last four games, he's averaging just 11.0 points, 0.8 three-pointers and 39.5 percent shooting. For the season those numbers are 17.9, 1.1 and 51.1. Granted, Marion seemed to be slumping even before Nash went to the sidelines -- he's just 37.2 percent from the field in seven February games.
