FBA: Waiver Wire Work

It's about that time of year when injured stars are going to start shutting things down if they aren't in the playoff race. As if you haven't suffered through enough injuries, right? Ray Allen and Andrew Bogut are already gone, and Paul Pierce might be next. Unfortunately, there's really not much you can do other that keep on top of the news and be ready to make a waiver wire move when the time comes. Luckily, it looks like Emeka Okafor is going to suit up for the Bobcats pretty soon, despite their 26-45 record. Be careful, though: The Cats won't let him risk further injury if it looks like he's not at full strength. With that in mind, here are a few replacements to consider if you're looking to make a late-season push …

Damien Wilkins, SG/SF, SEA -- 3.5 percent owned

I'm sure you remember Wilkins from the last time Allen went down with an injury. For those that don't, check out his averages in 18 starts this season: 13.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 0.9 3s and 1.8 steals. Need I say more? This kid can really play when given the opportunity, and opportunities he'll get with Allen shutting it down for the year. If it's steals you desire, you won't be able to find a better option than Wilkins. Others that stand to benefit from Ray-Ray's injury include Earl Watson and Chris Wilcox (if they are still available).
