FFL: Week 5 Matchups

Every week, we preview all the upcoming games from a fantasy perspective. To help you with lineup decisions regarding most non-superstar players, we give you matchups to exploit, key starting choices and advice on whom to leave on your bench.

Baltimore at Detroit: The Detroit secondary is vulnerable, and injuries make the defense worth testing, so expect Anthony Wright to deliver a few strikes to Derrick Mason. The Ravens still should lean heavily on the run, and Jamal Lewis could be good for one score even if his yardage totals are a bit disappointing. Joey Harrington doesn't have much of a chance against a defense that will be poised to dominate the weak Detroit offense. Kevin Jones might have another disappointing outing, and he is a very risky starting choice. Start and Smile: Derrick Mason. Watch and Worry: Joey Harrington, Kevin Jones, Mike Williams.

Carolina at Arizona: In an effort to neutralize the quick rush of DE Julius Peppers, Cardinals QB Josh McCown could employ a quick-hitting attack that features a lot of short and intermediate throws to WR Anquan Boldin. Carolina MLB Dan Morgan should do a good job of keeping RB Marcel Shipp in check, forcing McCown to the air often with mixed results. The Panthers will attack a vulnerable Cardinals secondary quite often, and Jake Delhomme should hook up with Steve Smith very often. Stephen Davis should see a lot of open running room and could score at least once from short range. Start and Smile: Jake Delhomme, Stephen Davis, Steve Smith, Anquan Boldin. Watch and Worry: Marcel Shipp.
