Carroll: Status of Delhomme and Taylor

So I was walking through the lobby of the Baseball Winter Meetings on Wednesday when one of the many job seekers there stopped me with a "Mr. Carroll?" This still is new to me, but I'm always willing to say hi and talk some sports. "What are you doing here?" he asked me. Strange question since I've been covering the Winter Meetings since I started writing. "But what does this have to do with Fantasy Football?" That's when it hit me. He knew my face from this column and not from any of my baseball work. I'll admit that was unexpected, but that's one of the benefits of that egg-shaped headshot being posted up on the Worldwide Leader. So thanks for reading and if you ever see me pass by, say hi.
Let's get to it:

If you've been following The Fantasy Show's league, you'll know that my ongoing QB saga is still ongoing and now, affected by injury. Each week, I'm forced to figure out whether I should start the inconsistent Rex Grossman or the inconsistent Jake Delhomme. I've won despite this, in large part due to my pick of LaDainian Tomlinson at No. 4 overall, but now Delhomme's thumb injury comes into the decision. The ligament sprain on his throwing thumb isn't the reason he's played badly for much of the second half of the season; it just happened on Monday. Now, the injury appears worse than initially thought and may need surgery. Chris Weinke looks to get the start this week and depending on how Delhomme adjusts, could be the QB for a while. The Panthers also appear to be getting DeShaun Foster back this week. The minor questions they had about his ability to take contact on his elbow appear gone and he should be back in his timeshare with DeAngelo Williams, but the Panthers love Williams' ability to burst.
