During the NFL season, one of the stats I found most interesting was how teams did against the spread (ATS). In most cases, it was a pretty good indication of who was going to cover. I asked Sal at Madduxsports.com, who has a deep database of team's records ATS in several sports, to send me some of the top cagers ATS this season, including only those with a shot to make the tourney. He sent me the worst, too, but those teams (Fordham, DePaul, Air Force, Notre Dame and Oregon) and far from playing in March. (The records he sent are through Tuesday, Feb. 24).
