Europe is supporting the WNBA—but not without Candace Parker's help.
Of all the reasons Candace Parker is unique, here's the one she herself will probably most enjoy: She'll never have to play in the Ural Mountains to pay her utility bills.
Parker, who already has endorsements from adidas and Gatorade, could soon become one of a tiny group of female athletes pulling down $10 million or more a year from corporate sponsors. (The others: Maria Sharapova, Michelle Wie and Venus and Serena Williams.) Which means that, unlike virtually every other female hoops professional, Parker can stay home and keep her baby, build her business career, shoot free throws or do whatever else she likes stateside instead of going abroad to supplement her income.
