Anthony Davis rises to the occasion
THERE'S NOTHING ABOUT Anthony Davis that says he owns this -- or any -- court. He has run the floor at Tim Grover's Attack Athletics Center gym, in his hometown of Chicago, before. But he's never made much of an impression on many of these same elite high school vets. If the other McDonald's All-Americans here at the United Center were being honest, they'd say the 6'10" Kentucky signee has commanded the attention of the ranking services solely because he sprouted seven inches since his junior year. When LSU-bound forward Johnny O'Bryant is asked about Davis, he can't quite remember ever having seen him play. The senior preps, some of whom are laying eyes on him for the first time, are equally unimpressed. "I heard the hype but thought he's just all right," says Duke commit Austin Rivers.
