It was New Year's Day, the Blazers were on a four-game losing streak and had just flown into town to take on the Clippers. In years past, the Clippers were a good bet to be the cure for just about anything that ailed a losing team. This year is different, but the Clippers themselves aren't without their woes. One Blazers employee walked up to Clippers coach Alvin Gentry, slapped him on the shoulder and asked him how he was doing. "Just trying to keep up with all of these immature kids," Gentry lamented.
