Now Leftwich, Ragone eye draft

Two of the top quarterback prospects for the 2003 NFL draft faced off in the GMAC Bowl on Wednesday night: Marshall's Byron Leftwich and Louisville's Dave Ragone (both are seniors). Led by Leftwich's MVP performance -- 22-of-44, 249 yards, four TDs -- Marshall won 38-15.

There's no question that Leftwich ranks right up there with USC's Heisman Trophy winner, Carson Palmer -- they're the elite pure passers in the nation. You never see a bad ball come off Leftwich's hand. Just about every throw is a tight spiral that's on target and extremely catchable. He also has all the intangibles you look for, keyed by his toughness and dedication.
