The Minnesota Wild have the lowest payroll in the NHL, play before packed home crowds and just finished a playoff run to the Western Conference finals in their third season. Everything points to perhaps the most highest profits of any team in the league, so will the Wild stick with the format of building around the draft and keeping salaries low or spend some of that windfall on a big-name player? "We have to stay focused on the big picture and focused on being consistent so that we can be a long-term contender," general manager Doug Risebrough told the St. Paul Pioneer Press.
