  • So now it's settled: Roger Clemens will go for career win No. 300 against the Red Sox on Memorial Day at Yankee Stadium. That is, unless he has some broken bones in his hand. Mark Murphy of the Boston Herald reports he will have the hand x-rayed today and if it comes up clean, he's good to go.

  • For their part, the Red Sox want no part of being on the losing end of such a milestone, writes Roger Rubin of the New York Daily News. Rubin polls the Bostons and finds them wanting very much to avoid such a fate on Monday.

  • What's the latest news from the baseball memorabilia auction world? A ball signed by the 1927 Yankees went for over six gs. Time to give it to the terrier for some backyard ball chasin' fun, no? Ted Taylor of the Philadelphia Daily News has the dope on that transaction as well as some other interesting prices.
