American League Chicago White Sox: Phil Rogers of the Chicago Tribune says it's high time that the Sox parted ways with manager Jerry Manuel. Chicago has lost nine games in the standings to the Twins this month and has still not caught the downturning Royals. Rogers also ponders the possibility of throwing in the towel on the season and trying to get prospects for the starting pitching. Minnesota Twins: With Torii Hunter hurting and Bobby Kielty unable to throw, the Twins demoted Todd Sears and called up center fielder Lew Ford to act as a defensive replacement and back-up outfielder.
