Despite the painful 3-2 loss to New Jersey in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals last week, the Ottawa Senators are destined for greater things.

Although the Senators are tired of hearing it, better results will come with the experience gained through another failure. This year the Senators went further in the playoffs than they ever had before. And with largely the same determined cast next season, a Stanley Cup Finals berth shouldn't be far off.

"I'm sure, at this moment, it's tough for everybody in this room to see the positive strides we made this year and maybe we will a few days after this," center Mike Fisher told the Ottawa Sun after the Senators were eliminated. "I guess what you have to realize is that not everything in life is going to go your way, but we're going to be better from this experience."
