It's hard to imagine Brian Leetch playing in any uniform other than that of the New York Rangers.
Yet the longer the Rangers take to re-sign their all-star defenseman, the possibility of his departure increases every day that July 1 gets closer. Leetch, 35, can become an unrestricted free agent on that day and he would cause many GMs to figure out a way to fit him into their payroll if they thought the 16-year veteran would leave New York.
