Philadelphia Flyers: Unable, so far, to pry the No. 1 pick from the Panthers, Flyers GM Bob Clarke might be setting his sights on obtaining Buffalo goalie Martin Biron. Although Sabres GM Darcy Regier told the Buffalo News that it's "very unlikely" a move involving a goalie will happen at this weekend's draft, most other players on Buffalo's roster look to be available.

Ottawa Senators: GM John Muckler said he doesn't expect to trade center Radek Bonk, nor any other Senators player at the draft. "I don't really think anything is going to happen," Muckler told the Ottawa Sun. "That can change, but I haven't had any discussions and I don't anticipate that I will. I want to keep this team together."

Detroit Red Wings: Instead of lining up for unemployment benefits with laid-off auto workers in Michigan, Detroit superstar Sergei Fedorov expects some team other than the Red Wings to pay him at least $50 million over the next five years. The "disappointed and angry" Red Wing, who can become an unrestricted free agent July 1, is unhappy with Detroit's four-year, $40 million offer and told the Detroit News, "I just want to play hockey. Right now, I'm an unemployed hockey player with no contract."
