  • There's another Blalock out there hoping to follow in his brother Hank's footsteps. Jake Blalock, a fifth-round pick of the Phillies last year, is off to a decent start with Batavia of the New York-Penn League. Jim Salisbury of the Philadelphia Inquirer profiles the 19-year old power prospect.

  • Is this Rickey Henderson's future? Minnie Minoso had his once-every-decade at bat recently in the Northern League and can start planning for his next one, which should come in 2013. Bradford Doolittle of the Kansas City Star describes the special relationship between Minoso and the Veeck family.

  • Bill Madden of the New York Daily News has an interesting insight regarding the New York Mets. If Met fans want to see what a rebuilding team looks like, one just left New York. He thinks the 2004 Mets will resemble the rebuilding 2003 Indians.
