Tampa Bay Buccaneers: QB Jim Miller, who is recovering from offseason rotator cuff surgery, still isn't ready to fully participate in practice but he has started throwing again. After making some light tosses while the Bucs were in Japan last week, Miller threw extensively on the side for the first time during Wednesday morning's workout and experienced no pain. "I'm just working my way back into it right now, but there was no elbow pain so it went well," Miller told the Tampa Tribune. "The big thing now is to get the strength back. If I can do that then I can take a hit on it." Miller remains hopeful that he'll be ready to play by the last preseason game.

New York Giants: Bus Cook, the agent for the rookie DT William Joseph, was upset at comments made by GM Ernie Accorsi on Tuesday. Accorsi, who was upset that Joseph held out for 12 days, said the negotiation of Joseph's contract had made him appreciate the professionalism of other agents. In response, Cook told the New York Times: "It makes me appreciate dealing with teams that want to get players to camp on time. I've been in this business a long time and I've never had any holdouts. This is the first. Ernie doesn't need to talk about professionalism. When you send somebody an offer on July 22, and camp starts the day after next, you know good and well you're not going to get the deal done on time. I don't appreciate the remarks he made, and I've never talked to the man. For him to make an attack on me is certainly uncalled for in light of the fact they waited until the 12th hour."
