Philadelphia 76ers: The Philadelphia Inquirer is reporting that this summer could very well be the best off season of Allen Iverson's professional career."I'm on the Olympic team," Iverson said before Team USA defeated Argentine for the Gold Medal in the Olympic Qualifying event. "Me and Coach Brown [who coached the U.S. team] are getting along great. And Billy King [the Sixers' general manager] definitely went out and did his job this summer. I can't ask for much more right now." But that doesn't mean that Allen Iverson isn't going to be Allen Iverson when it's all over and the season starts. "It's all about me," Iverson said. "Let's just be real about it. It was mostly about me when Coach Brown was in Philly, and it's definitely going to be about me now. I've got to be the leader on the team. I've got to show the example. I've got to make sure we don't fall apart and that we're moving in the right direction. We know I'll get the blame for it if we don't. It's the same old same-old."

New Jersey Nets: Jason Kidd had nearly an assist per minute in yesterday's Gold Medal game for Team USA but as the New York Post reports, the problem was that he played only six minutes. Kidd injured his ankle in the first game of the Olympic Qualifying tournament and with the US up by 33 points at the half of the final game, the team thought it best that Kidd sit out the entire second half of what would become a 106-73 victory. The move was termed precautionary with no lasting effects expected.
