It was a dark week for the Sun Belt Conference. The league went 0-fer against some pretty high caliber competition. But now that they've taken their lumps, most league members are ready to start dishing some out as they begin to pick on teams their own size.

Arkansas State
The Indians have no apologies to make for their 26-11 loss at Texas A&M. Their defense was outstanding, allowing just 257 total yards to the Aggies. Jonathan Burke was the standout, with a pair of interceptions and a forced fumble that led to the Indians' lone touchdown. He also had eight tackles and broke up a pass.

  • Part of that defensive effort was time of possession, and the key to that was the Arkansas State running game. Steve Roberts raised some eyebrows when he listed five tailbacks the start of his season-opening depth chart, but he used all five effectively against Texas A&M.
