Boston Red Sox: Manny Ramirez made his first start in a week on Wednesday night in Boston's 5-4 victory over Chicago. Michael Silverman of the Boston Herald reports that the club is still steaming about his comportment during a recent bout of pharyngitis. While it would seem unlikely that the Red Sox would continue to hold a player of Ramirez's talent out of the lineup simply as punishment, they are making noises to the effect that he is no longer guaranteed a spot in the starting lineup. Prior to the game, manager Grady Little made this rather obvious statement about his status: "I just want to make a statement that Manny Ramirez is back in the lineup tonight in left field. He's back out there because we feel like that's the best chance we've got to win tonight. That's the way we're going to approach every single game the rest of the year."
