Emmitt Smith suffered a fractured scapula in his dreadful return to Dallas,
and could be out as many as six weeks. Given his historical recuperative
powers, it wouldn't be a shock to see him be ready to play much sooner than
anyone in the medical profession anticipates, but will his job be ready when
Coach Dave McGinnis says yes, but that's an easy thing to say now. The
Cardinals brought Smith in to give them some veteran leadership, and while
he as succeeded in accomplishing that, he has yet to give the team any
production on the field.
Smith has been a virtual non-entity in three of team's losses this year, and
the Cards will have trouble winning another game if they continue to get
nothing from the running game.
