  • Adrian Wojnarowski of the Bergen Record calls Pedro Martinez a "punk" for throwing at Karim Garcia and threatening Jorge Posada with a skulling. Lest you scream "bias," however, he does take Don Zimmer to task for his antics.

  • Thomas Boswell of the Washington Post tries to sort out the finger-pointing, name calling and schoolyard nonsense surrounding Saturday's foolishness at Fenway. Boswell sums it up nicely when he says, "The inventory of pettiness here at the Fens over the last two days is getting rather impressive."

  • Tony Massarotti of the Boston Herald wants to believe Pedro Martinez when he says he did not want to dig himself a deeper hole on Saturday and, therefore, could not possibly have been throwing at Karim Garcia, but he remains skeptical. ``I just wanted to get in (on Garcia) and make sure I got (inside), because the previous batter got a hit to right field on a pitch I missed location,'' Martinez told Massarotti. ``I wasn't feeling all that well in the first three innings.''
