  • To the victors goes all the spoiling. Sara Olkon of the Miami Herald describes some of the post-Series celebrations enjoyed by the Marlins reminding us all why we spent at least part of our youth wanting to be big league ballplayers.

  • Mike Phillips of the Herald wants to remind everyone that it was former general manager Dave Dombrowski who put together the core of the team that just won the World Championship. Dombrowski stuck it out with the franchise after it was gutted at the owner's whim in 1998 and sowed the seeds for the 2003 team.

  • While the Yankees began their post-Series purge by firing hitting coach Rick Down, the Marlins are promising not to disassemble this World Champion squad like they did the last one. Owner Jeff Loria swore on a stack of bibles (well, not actually) before a victory celebration crowd yesterday that there would be no repeat of the 1998 fiasco perpetrated by then-owner Wayne Huizinga.
