In the beginning of Monday Night Football, home teams had a tremendous advantage. The excitement generated by Howard Cosell & Co. coming to town was enormous, and there were many, many upsets on Monday nights.

Today a similar thing happens in college football when ESPN comes to town for a nationally televised night game. This week Miami of Ohio, TCU, New Mexico, Clemson and Pittsburgh benefit from that emotional lift. A lift that we don't think is adequately accounted for by Las Vegas yet.
