Washington playing with greater passion

New Washington head coach Glen Hanlon has already produced three things that the fired Bruce Cassidy failed to get out of the Capitals very often this season: hard work, scoring and a victory.

"I hadn't seen that much energy before a game all season," winger Peter Bondra, who scored once in the Capitals' 6-5 victory over Boston on Thursday night, told The Washington Post.

"There was a lot of enthusiasm. Glen said all the right positive things [at a meeting]. And we responded well," goalie Olaf Kolzig told The Post. "Now it's on the players to perform. It's on us. We have enough leaders in this room to help him."
