Free agents should join forces

Why don't the very best free agents get together and agree to all play for the same team?

What is the one thing players always say after a great individual performance? That's right: invariably, they'll say: "I don't care how I did, the important thing is that we won." Except if they lose, then they'll say, "I don't care how I did, I just wish we had won."

Yes, to hear them tell it, winning isn't the only thing, it's the holy thing, to butcher a famous phrase. Unfortunately, because there are lesser talents roaming the earth with which greats often get stuck wearing the same uniform, even the very best cannot guarantee their team's success.

Or can they?
