Denver Broncos: WR Ed McCaffrey suffered his second concussion in 14 days Sunday and his status for the playoffs is uncertain. Team doctors kept a close eye on McCaffrey on the sideline afterward and coach Mike Shanahan is hopeful McCaffrey would be OK. But fellow WR Ashley Lelie put it best when he told the Rocky Mountain News, ""His second? I didn't know that. That's something to be worried about."

New York Giants: Big Blue's season is over but the search for their new skipper is just beginning. The New York Times reports the club has requested permission to interview two N.F.L. assistants, Romeo Crennel and Charlie Weis of New England, and is expected to contact St. Louis about an interview with the Rams' defensive coordinator, Lovie Smith. Because New England and St. Louis have first-round byes, their assistants can interview for head coaching vacancies this week. The Giants have already interviewed Tom Coughlin.

Washington Redskins: Saturday night's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles was DT Darrell Russell's last game in burgundy and gold. VP of football operations Vinny Cerrato called Russell's contract, the prorated portion of a one-year, $1.5 million deal, "an eight-week dating period" and the Redskins didn't fell like the former Pro Bowl tackle had the right stuff. "It's not going to consummate in marriage," Cerrato told the Washington Times. "He doesn't fit into the kind of guys we're looking for." Russell has served a pair of drug suspensions from the NFL and was known for chronic tardiness to team functions while with the Oakland Raiders. He was deactivated from Saturday's game because he was late for practice on Thursday, but he may have been suspended for his lame excuse. "I got lost and my battery went dead," Russell said. "It was like a movie set-up, but I still felt bad personally. I let the team down."
