Red Sox have tough act to follow

The comparisons between the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots are inevitable.

  • Looking to pick Ivan Rodriguez for your fantasy team? "Buyer beware," warns Charles Polansky of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. He believes Pudge's offensive stats are bound to go down when playing half his games in Comerica Park.

  • Rodriguez is just one of many catchers to switch teams this offseason. Murray Chass of the New York Times points out that, of the 19 catchers who caught at least 100 games in 2003, eight of them will be wearing different uniforms in 2004.

  • It's not easy being the son of a legend. Jackie Robinson's youngest son David did not bother trying to follow in his famous father's footsteps -- at least in terms of athletic pursuits.
