Before free agency started, Minnesota Vikings coach Mike Tice targeted corner and defensive end as the two areas his team needed to shore up.

The Vikings, who entered free agency with $33 million in cap space, certainly had enough in their change purse to take care of both, and they quickly filled one by signing cornerback Antoine Winfield. But Tice has yet to address the edge of his defensive line.

The plan was to get the 6-2, 251-pound Nick Rogers to move up in weight class and switch from linebacker to end, his college position. But that alone isn't the answer. Tice knows what Rogers can do, but the third-year player has done nothing this offseason to prove he's ready for the switch.
