New York Rangers: New York Rangers captain Mark Messier usually waits until the offseason to decide whether he's going to retire or come back for another season. But with just one more opportunity to salute the New York fans who Messier says are so special to him, the Broadway Blueshirts icon will have to speed up his decision before Wednesday night's home finale against Buffalo. "The only thing I'm uncomfortable with is being in a position not to know 100 percent that that's what I want to do," Messier told the New York Daily News.

Ottawa Senators: Winning once in their past five games gave Ottawa Senators head coach Jacques Martin good reason to shake up his line combinations and defensive pairings. Martin hopes the moves will energize the once-mighty Senators offense, which has scored just 13 goals in their past seven games, heading into the playoffs.

Nashville Predators: Pick six isn't a Nashville lottery, but the challenge Predators head coach Barry Trotz has in finding a winning combination among eight healthy defensemen. "It gets a lot tougher if they're playing well. It's a little easier if they're not playing well," Trotz told the Nashville Tennessean.
