Unlike a series between less-familiar opponents, there won't be a feeling-out process before mutual animosity matches the players' intensity in the Maple Leafs-Flyers series, which begins Thursday night at Philadelphia.
Before the puck is dropped for the second-round series, nobody is hiding their feelings about their Eastern Conference rival.
The Flyers know their battle with the Maple Leafs will certainly be physical.
"When we knew we'd be playing Toronto we didn't have to build up a lot of hate because it's already there," Flyers captain Keith Primeau told the Toronto Star.
