Treveon Graham excited about VCU

August, 23, 2010
VCU's basketball program has put together some outstanding runs during the past decade, but recent player signings/commitments by coach Shaka Smart and his staff has the Rams in potential position to be the next Butler/Gonzaga (a program with the potential to consistently make a deep run in the NCAA tournament).

After posting a 27-9 record in his first campaign while bringing in six new recruits for the 2010-11 season, Smart has quickly positioned his program for a bright future. The recent commitment of 6-foot-5 small forward Treveon Graham (Leonardtown, Md./St. Mary's Ryken) along with 6-3 shooting guard Pierria Henry (Charleston, W.V./South Charleston) and 6-3 combo Briante Weber (Chesapeake, Va./Fork Union) brings the 2011 class of early pledges to a total of three.

If Graham decided to wait out the recruiting process he would very easily end up on BCS-type program's recruiting radar. He is an impressively built wing with tremendous upside. He is young (16 years old) for his grade, but already understands the nuances of scoring.
