Trahson Burrell commits to Rhode Island

October, 11, 2010
Rhode Island coach Jim Baron has made a career of getting long and athletic players to thrive in his up-tempo system. On Friday, Rhode Island got a commitment from Trahson Burrell (Albany, N.Y./Notre Dame Prep), a 6-foot-6 swingman who fits Baron's scheme to a tee and projects to be an ideal fit in URI's up-and-down style.

"My style of play fits that school," Burrell said, "and coach said that I would be a major part of the team next year."

A long and athletic swingman, it is Burrell's versatility in the open floor that makes him so dangerous. He has definite point forward type skills with his ability to push the ball up the court and make decisions, but is equally effective running lanes because of his speed and athleticism. Quinnipiac lands Drame
Quinnipiac landed Ousmane Drame (Boston, Mass./Marianapolis Prep) this weekend, a talented 6-8 big man who has great potential and has already exceeded long odds to get to this point.
