Georges Niang tops undervalued list

July, 18, 2011
With the first 10 days of the summer evaluation period complete here are some thoughts and observations on players I got to watch. There were a lot of players currently ranked outside the Top 100 whocaught my eye, but these four made great cases for inclusion on the list the next time it is published.

Undervalued guys

Georges Niang (Methuen, Mass./The Tilton School)
2012, PF, 6-7, 230 pounds | AAU Team: BABC
Committed: Iowa State
Possibly the biggest steal so far in the 2012 class is the Iowa State commit from the Boston area. He came into the summer ranked outside the Top 100 and proceeded to consistently outplay higher-profile opponents. Although his game may not be flashy, he produces in both scoring and rebounding and has been the go-to horse many times even though he is playing next an All-American in Nerlens Noel. Iowa State did an outstanding job of evaluating the power forward and closing the deal before his stock soared through the roof.
