The discussion of national title contenders this season has settled on six teams: Tennessee, Duke, Virginia, Gonzaga, Michigan and Michigan State.

They're the top six teams at KenPom, six of the top eight teams in the BPI, six of the top seven teams in the Sagarin ratings, the clear-cut top six teams in Bart Torvik's teamsheet rankings and the top six teams in the most recent AP poll.

Michigan State has been something of a late entry into this elite sextet of teams, but the Spartans were perhaps the hottest team in the country before their loss last weekend at Purdue.

So who's the next Michigan State? Can anyone else make this group of six a group of seven?

We asked opposing coaches to break down the pros and cons -- and whether these teams are contenders or pretenders.
